Bandargaz, Tourism Resort of Caspian Sea
The location of the city at the eastern-south of Caspian Sea has turned the city into a place for import and export of goods, giving a commercial picture to the city.
Years ago, famous tourists from across the globe had traveled to the city describing the region in their travelogue. Lord Curzon was one of the most important viceroys sent from England to rule over India in 1899-1905. Before becoming the viceroy he had visited Iran, Ceylon, Afghanistan, Turkistan, China, Japan and Korea. In his historical book, he wrote, “In Bandargaz, also named “Kenareh” there is a series of clay huts and shelters on the beach, big caravansaries and several shops running by Russian Armenians, as well as the residence of Russian consul, and agencies of Cuarcasia navigation companies. The city is 3 miles off Gaz Village in the jungle.”
Following the new projects of the government on developing the export industry of the region, several harbor installations were established in recent years.
Tourism industry is the next issue which was considered in the city, especially the sea tourism.
Dozens of city residents are convinced that sea tourism can play an important role in boosting the industry. The quiet blue sea, beautiful seaside and natural sites of the region invite great number of tourists seeking for a calm sea beach to rest.
Sea tourism can also help to boost ecotourism in the area as well. Natural landscapes in a part of peninsula of Miyankaleh, as well as the jungle view in the eastern-south part are among other tourism sites.
Establishing beach camps, leisure boats, boat houses, and small rent boats can also help attract more tourists to the region every year. Providing diving facilities, fishing and water ski are among other means to boost the industry.
